Buchhändler bleibt Schlusslicht

Der Beruf des Buchhändlers steht nach wie vor am Ende der Berufsprestige-Skala, die das Institiut für Demoskopie in Allensbach regelmäßig ermittelt.

Die Frage, die das Institut für Demoskopie Allensbach seit 1966 in einem Mehrjahresrhythmus an die Bevölkerung richtet, lautet: „Hier sind einige Berufe aufgeschrieben. Könnten Sie bitte die fünf davon heraussuchen, die Sie am meisten schätzen, vor denen Sie am meisten Achtung haben?“ Den Befragten wird dabei eine Liste mit siebzehn Berufen vom Arzt über den Pfarrer, den Rechtsanwalt, den Ingenieur, den Politiker, den Studienrat bis zum Gewerkschaftsführer vorgelegt – auf der der Beruf des Buchhändlers immerhin enthalten ist.

Am meisten Ansehen genießt bei der aktuellen Umfrage der Arztberuf – und zwar mit großem Abstand gegenüber anderen Berufen. 78 Prozent der Bevölkerung zählen ihn zu den Berufen, vor denen sie besondere Achtung haben. An zweiter Stelle steht der Beruf des Pfarrers (39 Prozent). Die Berufe des Hochschulprofessors (34 Prozent) und des Grundschullehrers (33 Prozent) rangieren an dritter und vierter Stelle.

Immer mal links und rechts nach neuen Ideen Ausschau halten – das machen wir ja nun schon länger.
So waren Thomas und ich gestern auf der Euroshop in Düsseldorf.
Argh, hätten wir doch mal was Produktiveres gemacht. Mal ganz abgesehen davon, dass die Bratwurst zum Frühstück schmeckte, als ob sie schon seit Tagen vor sich hingaren würde und Thomas‘ Baguette mehr als durchgeweicht war, gab’s vom restlichen Tag auch nichts positives zu berichten.

Eigentlich wollten wir ja jedem was mitbringen. In Frage gekommen wäre zum Beispiel der Hubwagen, damit Thomas leichter mal ne Glühbirne wechseln kann oder eine Papier-/Karton-/Plastik-Zusammenstampfmaschine (oder so…) für Jörg oder die Scannerkasse samt Laufband à la ALDI für Mechthild…

Thomas hat sich übrigens diesen hier gewünscht:

Euch ist sicherlich aufgefallen, dass es hier in den letzten Tagen extrem ruhig war. Natürlich gab es dafür gaaaanz viele Gründe.

1. Wir liegen in den letzten Zügen mit schmitzkatze 5, die am 7. März erscheinen wird. Also mussten wir viel lesen, viel schreiben und wieder viel lesen.

2. Haben wir viele, viele preisreduzierte Büche bekommen (die mittlerweile allerdings schon fast wieder weg sind), die wollen alle ausgezeichnet und weggeräumt werden.

3. Kommt Ostern genauso plötzlich wie Weihnachten…

Eragon 3 kommt tatsächlich noch im diesem September!

Verlagsleiter Jürgen Weidenbach: »Wir werden mit einer Erstauflage von 500.000 Exemplaren an den Start gehen und orientieren uns mit unserem Erscheinungstermin so weit wie möglich an den amerikanischen Kollegen. Details zu Covergestaltung, den deutschen Titel und auch den genauen Erscheinungstermin werden wir in einigen Wochen bekannt geben.
